Five to 10 centimetres of snow mixed with freezing drizzle is expected to hit St. Catharines, Grimsby and northern Niagara region on Saturday.
“Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays,” Environment Canada said.
The storm expected to hit the region Sunday morning is anticipated bring 15 to 25 centimetres of “heavy and blowing” snow.
Itis expected to by end by night, said Environment Canada.
St. Catharines, Grimsby and the northern Niagara region are again expected to be impacted though it is unclear which areas will receive the heaviest snowfall amounts, Environment Canada said.
There’s also a risk of freezing rain over the Niagara peninsula for Sunday.
Environment Canada has advised to avoid travel if necessary on both Saturday and Sunday and to monitor weather forecasts.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery,” Environment Canada said.
