Tariffs will make Canada ‘dynamic, economic powerhouse:’ local Green Party candidate
“We have the potential to be an economic powerhouse. Let’s roll up our sleeves and go for it, like our national hockey team,” Green Party candidate for Niagara West, Mark Harrison, told Dear Niagara.
With U.S. tariffs still a great concern across Canada, the local Green Party candidate for Niagara West is looking at the “potential” it could create for the country.
Although Mark Harrison understands the concern about the impacts of tariffs on our economy, he said “this will make us far stronger and innovative.”
“We have the potential to be an economic powerhouse. Let’s roll up our sleeves and go for it, like our national hockey team,” Harrison told Dear Niagara.

When looking to the upcoming provincial election, Harrison said the Green Party will put people over profit.
“The Doug Ford government has its method of managing the province. It’s survival of the fittest and lots of people are loosing out,” he said.
“They will tinker around the edges but not solve the key issues of our time such as healthcare, affordable housing and cost of living,” Harrison added.
The Green Party will set up clinic hubs, invest in a central referral system, modernize doctor to OHIP interactions and invest in AI technology to give doctors more time with patients, according to Harrison.
