A Toronto law firm has been hired by the Ontario Hockey League to conduct a cultural review of the Niagara Ice Dogs, TSN has reported.

“Recently the League received some complaints regarding the organizational culture of the Niagara IceDogs,” the OHL wrote in a statement to TSN on Mar. 11.

“The league takes these matters very seriously and has launched a third-party internal investigation into the allegations.”

The nature of concerns raised are not sexual or criminal, according to TSN.

This is not the first time the Niagara Ice Dogs have been under investigation.

The team’s former general manager and head coach were indefinitely suspended by the OHL three years ago after allegedly using offensive language in a WhatsApp conversation.

Now, Turnpenney Milne LLP was retained by the OHL on Mar. 3 to conduct the review, according to the report by TSN.
