2 arrested after over $100 thousand in fentanyl, pills found in ceiling tiles at Niagara business

Last year in Dec., a local business in Niagara Falls contacted police after finding controlled substances in the ceiling tiles of their bathroom.

It was there police discovered 1373.7 grams of fentanyl, estimated at a street value of $100,000 and 22 hydromorphone pills, estimated at a street value of $220, the Niagara Regional Police (NRPS) Service said Friday.

Police did not release the name of the business where the substances were found.
The owner of the controlled substances was identified by police and on Feb. 13, 2025, after attempting to flea on foot, the suspect was arrested, NRPS said.

According to police, officers seized the following from the suspect:

  • 29.4 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $2,000)

  • 139.8 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $10,000)

  • 198.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine (estimated street value of $6,000)

  • 347 hydromorphone pills (estimated street value of $3470)

  • $1016 of Canadian Currency

  • 3 cell phones

A 22-year-old and and a 64-year old were arrested and both were charged with eight counts of possession of a schedule substance for the purpose of trafficking, among other offences, according to police.
