Cirque du Soleil returning to St. Catharines

Cirque du Soleil is coming back to St. Catharines this week with a six performance run at the Meridian Centre.
Cirque du Soleil’s “OVO” will run from Feb. 20 to Feb. 23.
“The show plunges the audience into the hidden universe alive at our feet; an ecosystem teeming with life and unseen beings – insects that work, eat, crawl, flutter, feast, fight and court among each other in an ongoing explosion of energy and movement,” according to Cirque du Soleil.
The name “OVO” means egg in Portuguese.
“This timeless symbol of the life cycle and birth of numerous insects represents the underlying thread of the show. Graphically, OVO hides an insect in its name: The two “Os” representing the eyes while the letter “V” forms the nose,” said Cirque du Soleil.
The show has a run time of 100 minutes, excluding the 25 minute intermission.
