Police arrest suspect in St. Catharines break and enter blitz

The suspect was breaking into businesses, taking key fobs, then stealing the vehicle linked to the key, police said.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a string of break and enters in St. Catharines, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has announced.

Last month, police began an investigation into break and enters that were taking place at dealerships and automotive repair shops in St. Catharines, NRPS said in a news release.

The suspect was breaking into businesses, taking key fobs, then stealing the vehicle linked to the key, the investigation revealed.

“As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify a male suspect responsible,” police said.

Austin Horner was arrested on Feb. 11 in the area of Church St. And Niagara St.

He has been charged with multiple offences.
